Clean Eating for Halloween…er, well….um…

Okay, so things got kind of stressful and I fell a bit off the wagon. I fell off, was dragged for a bit and then just let go.

Actually, that was only for about 2 days and then I’ve been candy free since then. Still… I thought this would be a piece of cake (as in just don’t eat the cake.)

Just for fun, I’ll tell you what happened. It doesn’t matter, of course. Things happen. My resolve can’t dissolve so easily.

So, we had sold our house finally. And we found the perfect house to rent. We weren’t letting the stress of packing and moving get to us. We were positive and determined. We loved the rental house so much. It was a dream come true. For real.

Then our realtor called (Brother-in-Law, Ralph) and said that our sure thing, all cash buyer was backing out, after having taken extra long to do his inspection and keeping our house tied up for probably the last few really active weeks before the dead real estate season. And because he never signed the release, he still gets to keep his deposit. Grrrrrrr…..

We were flattened. Stephen was really good about it. Deep breaths and we knew we’d figure it out. But still… we both had the same idea… “we need snacks.” I gave him carte blanche and he came home with candy corns and a few other crappy things. And I ate a handful of those little plasticy weird things. They aren’t even good after the first two or three chews, but I didn’t care.

And I knew a sugar coma wasn’t going to make me feel better for real, but it sort of did for an evening.

And that’s my story. I guess it was more like I dove off the wagon. Right into a bowl of candy corn.

THIS JUST IN…… We decided to keep our rental house anyway, even though the thought of carrying both for more than a month was super terrifying… And then we re-listed our house and it sold again within 24 hours!! Same price and everything. Whew!! I have more on this too… it’s about going with the flow even when the flow seems to stop going.

So it’s all good. And Halloween is just days away. I was planning on having a candy fest on the day if I felt like it. But no more. Don’t need it.

Oh, goodness, that must have been stressful, but I’m so glad all worked out in the end. I love when good comes to good people like you. I’m not a candy person, but probably would have indulged in other unhealthy things in your shoes! One night seems pretty good to me!

oh, I wish I wasn’t a candy person! Actually I’m mostly just a chocolate person, but every now and then something like candy corn tempts me. I can leave most other non-chocolate candy alone. And full disclosure it was a bit more than one night…

I’m so glad it ended up working out! That sounds so stressful! When are you moving?

  3. Oh, I feel your pain, my candy-loving sister! :)

But hooray(!) that the house situation straightened itself out. Isn’t it funny how just when you let go of something, it resolves itself? Funny, and wonderful! LOL
